It is split into two sections – Upper and Lower Móricgát.
Móricgát was established as a semi-independent settlement on 1st June, 1993.
Móricgát has a population of about 450 people. Most are native Hungarians, but an increasing amount of expats are moving to the area in recent years.
Major landmarks in Móricgát include the Faluhaz, the Catholic Church and the Reformed Church.
These landmarks and establishment date can be seen in the village’s crest.
Móricgát’s neighbours are the small villages of Bugac, Jászszentlászló and Szank. The town of Kiskunfélegyháza and the city Kecskemét are the more larger locations.
